distributor coil?

So my CRX has been down for about 2 months now and I've finally had time to look at it. It is not getting spark, I changed out the rotor and the cap. I am starting to think it could be the coil, is there a way to test the coil?

Another note, Last weekend I jumped the car, it started and ran for about 10 min. then died and wouldn't re-start.

I jumped it yesterday and it did the same thing. 10 min and then it dies and won't restart.

The coil is $80 and I can't drop the coin unless that is the fix.

Thanks.

it has been cool daily driving the s13 but gas$$$ and welded diff....

I jumped it off my s14 and left the cables on there, so would that still be the battery?

battery or alternator. you can get them both tested for free.

I know the battery is crap, I just thought because I kept the jumper cables hooked up to the s14 while it was running that the battery or Alt. would not be in play.

note, did not take time to get it running until the 240 started being all weird.
