Post Deployment Needs/Wants/Woes

Post by Falkon45 »

damn it's been a minute since I've been here.

Okay... In about two months, I'll be home from deployment, and still haven't done anything for my RX-7. I still needs an engine, and still needs to be brought back from Illinoise. I'm just gonna go with a non-turbo 13b, for ease and time effectiveness, but I'm gonna get started on the suspention immediately. Now, it's a joint project between myself, and my best friend. We make decisions together, but we're not eye to eye on where to start with the suspension. I just want to get some KSport coilovers, and random MazdaSpeed and Racing Beat bits (still have to look and compare). He wants to go with Tein coilovers, and as much Tein as we can fit under the car.

Now, I've never really been a big fan of Tein, seeing as I think their just affordable, but not that great on quality. I'd like some JIC units, but that's just a pipe dream at the moment.

Anybody willing to help out on a dual purpose Drift/Time Attack car?

yo, good to see you back over here!

i'd go with whatever you can find decently cheap for suspension. i'm still on megan's with my 14 (which are some of the cheaper coilovers around), but have had no problems with them at all.

holler if you get it down to GA too, i'm sure there's a few of us that would be glad to help out with stuff too.

Don't do k sports. If your going to roll cheap, get Megans.

Nice to see another FC owner. My good friend is in basic as of this week and i took over his FC due to him not being able to work on it anymore.

Thanks Cody. Yeah, it's good to be back. I've been talking about this damned car all deployment, and just really didn't know where to start.

But, now I have a plan. Thanks for the info on Megan. I completely forgot about them. If they've held up in your car, I'm sure they'll be okay in the FC .

Kali, I'm pretty sure you remember me talking about he FC before. remember, I wanted to put another engine in it, and you told me about the LS1 swap.

Still want another engine, but let's see how the 13b holds up.

soooo, I looked at the megans. Wow. Definitely going to get those. I'll get race set, and see if I can get some more springs in different rates to adjust for drift a littel better.

anybody know where i can buy a decent (as in, not needing to be rebuilt) 13b for a good price? Still want to do a ej20/25/30 swap. But I'll need to have a garage to attemp that... in the future.

I heard K-Sport and Megans are both the same thing... just different colors.

Welll, no more RX-7.

My friend gave me his extra one, but since he just got separated from the Navy, he needs it back. I gave him a heads up a while agoabout getting the car back if he needs it, and he just now emailed me back. Oh well. Looks like I need to put more into the supra now.

i'm rollin some k sports, a buddy of mine has megans, feel the same only difference i really saw was the way you adjust the dampening, k sport has a removable key and the megan's are stationary. neither are bad for the price, better then factory anyway.
