I had a bottom mounted td06 on my old sr and it looked like having it that way allowed more space for the mani pipes to be bent at a wider angle. Less drag? some of the mani's I used to see had the pipes all mangled into a big knot. I don't know though.

im also still running a bottom mount setup. Especially on LHD s-bodys it makes sence to me, with a top mount turbo you need some good heat protection for the brake master cylinder, and how this stuff is called in english lol.

so the temperature situation in the engine bay should be better with a bottom mount. Im also not shure if all top mount kits will fit around the steering on a LHD car - especially with a twin scroll setup its a mega tight fit.

And it doesnt look too spectacular wich makes sense over here when you run the car on the open road. The cops wont notice that a different turbo is underneath :)

I thought you couldn't mount an oil fed turbo below 6" above the oil pan because it will cook it unless it has an oil pump? It's what I've heard but I never looked into it. Anyone have anything on this?

As far as sr's go I would expect the pressure from the oil pump feeds into the top. Right? I would assume that no matter where you put it, it will still get oil. Mine was pretty low and it never had a problem. I don't know if it meets the less than 6 inch thing though.

never herad of that tbh.
there should be more than enough pressure to bring the oil everywhere. If you change the tubby on the SR to a ball bearing one you need to put it a very thin restrictor because the oil pressure wuld kill the turbo otherwise.

i´ve got a 3071r on my sr, the only thing i needet to modify was the engine mount. it needet grinding down 1mm to fit the turbo in :)
