Newbie needs some advice
Hey guys in new here and im about to purchase a 92 240sx with 165,000 miles on it for $2,000 do you guys think its a fair price ohh and the seller said the "power steering pump" is broken.. thank you in advance..
Hello and WELCOME to the site!!!
165K? $2000? Sounds high to me, but I know 240's are going for more than they're worth these days. I'd say if you going to have to replace the power steering pump... go for a lower price. Subtract the cost of the pump, and see what he says.
Is the car in great condition? Has it been drifted? My instinct tells me if the power steering pump is going out, it's been slid a li'l. Just my $.02, though.

yea, that sounds a little high for one with some issues and that many miles, but like andy said, the prices are getting crazy high on them right now. i'd do a little more searching before you jump into one though (that is the one thing i should've done on mine, but that's a long story on it's own) but good luck!
or you could just buy a superior AWD vehicle and just talk a lot about drifting like we do.

1st off Welcome
2nd i would go out and do some research on it and see if all the papers are up to date as far as oil changes and tune ups
3rd see if the car has been in a accident and see if the title is clean
4th look for any non stock mods that will effect the drivablity of the car like suspention, engine, and safety equipment
finally look a the owner now that will tell you alot about how the car was driven
other than that good luck

Burn Rubber and keep the rear sideways.

conicelli nissan (http://www.partznet.com) has OEM P/S pumps for $385. you might be able to find it a little less, however retail is $513 on it so it seems like a pretty good deal.
