I just saw the new rules. That's going to pull the tandem field down to just a few cars. I think it is good to have those safety measures in place... but DAMN I want to run with you. And Coders. And... well... ALL YA'LL.

Drivers,
With the start of our sold-out practice series “Triple Threat II†May 10th, June 13th, & July 11th I would not normally send out a letter to all of you without some type of urgency in place. Effective Immediatly for the Tandem class drivers (T1) & (T2) we have added some safety requirements to the vehicles. These enhancements will give an opportunity for all tandem drivers to prepare there cars for future tandem battles and competition aswell as superior safety. Some of the basic rules are:
Requirements:
1. 6pt cage with driver side door bar
2. Fire Safety suit
3. 4pt harness (min)
4. NO passengers will be allowed during Tandem Runs (Tandem drivers are allowed to have ridealongs, but not during a tandem run.)
*If you are currently in a tandem group and do not pass at minimum these four requirements you will be place into a singles group.
We are currently working on a group buy with S&W to provide the best possible discount to all of you needing cages. We are also teaming up with the best welders in the community to provide good quality service at an affordable price to all SouthEast Drift drivers. We are also working on getting a discount for Fire Safety suits. All details can be found at our website http://www.southeastdrift.com and on our forums at http://www.forums.southeastdrift.com.

Im out of T. I dont see a cage (read new daily) happening any time soon for me. Ill be in for singles. How much room between cars make it two on course and tandem?

That sucks .
Really wanted to keep this car street friendly and stay cage-less, guess either that's gonna change or I'm sticking in the single group forever.
