All suggestions are taken with serious consideration. Really. I don't want this opportunity to get past us without making the most of it. If it's successful they want to do several a year.

Update tomorrow.

This sounds epic, Howard. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Next, why not some team tandem, and it probably couldn't happen but I'd love to see a 10-car train tandeming on main street to the afterparty.

remember that time I told you to not post unless you had something worthwhile to add?

still applies

Update:
I met with the Airport people, the Chamber of Commerce, The City Commissioners, The Tourism Board, and even the Guy who keeps the place looking great.
I get there and they give us a golf cart and tell us to go where ever we want and to watch out for airplanes. The place is used for mostly aircraft like the Burn Center aircraft, Life flight, Some police helicopters and a few Private aircraft.
1 flight the whole time I was there.

Got some dimensions

Image
Main Runway is 1 mile long and 100 feet wide.
The part that connects the runway to the taxiway is 230' by 40'
Taxiway is 1 mile by 35'
The Tarmac is 900' by 150 feet;

We can use all of it as we see fit. The pits will be about where the yellow square is ( Below where it say 906')

You can get going real fast on the runway but I don't think the connector roads are wide enough to handle high speed turns. Slower yes, 230' straight drift?

Set up a technical course on the tarmac and taxiway in view of the crowd.
Have a separate 360 pit and figure 8 for beginners.
My thoughts are to play on the runway. Maybe a cardboard box wall on one side at the 1/2 mile point to drag bumpers on at 100mph. 1/4 mile drag races, Highest speed in a standing 1/2 mile ( leaving 1/2 mile to stop) I have a radar gun for the speed measurement., 100mphh shortest breaking distance.
Maybe some of each during the day.
With multiple events and courses to play on this should be fun for us and put on a good show for the spectators.
All spectators will be allowed in the pits but not on the Hot Track Area.

At the end of the event they are thinking of a Block party in the center of town. Resturants with special pricing on beverage and food, They will give a Police escort the drift cars ( street legal or not) after the event to the party. Blue lights in front, not the rear view for a change, lol. Our cars will be the only ones allowed to park in the block party.
The whole city is behind this and want's us to feel welcomed.
Proceeds from the event are going to the Airport, Chamber of commerce and 2 charities, Something with Veterans and something with the animal shelters.
If this is successful They would like to do 3 or 4 a year. Maybe a 2 day event on the next one. It took me 2 hours and 15 min from Buford during morning traffic.

I'm open to suggestions on events and course designs. I want this to work. I've never seen a deal offered to drifters anything like this on the east coast.

Is there enough room to do something like this? The red section means a speed limited section.. no high speeds.
