As soon as this project is out the door I'll know more details. They owe me big, so it's coming.

If you do, get a plated bike

I've been looking out. Most people think that a tagged bike gains $1000 in value immediately so several have been kinda high. I also don't want a big dual sport, just a tagged KTM or Husky.

Have you checked ADVrider? Was a 07' ktm 200 plated out of florida a few weeks ago around 2500.00

My husky has been great, but it's heavy, doesn't turn as well as the jap bikes, has a tiny gas tank, but it takes a beating! The only thing that bike hasn't hit is the lottery. After 2500 miles the valves have not moved since i checked them at 42 miles. Most of my riding I'd be better off with a 250/310 but every once in a while the 50hp 450 is a riot! 70+ mph down truck width trails with a wheel in the air riot.

There's a tagged 03 ktm200 on CL for $2200, I'm just not sure I'd want to do much DS on a 2 stroke. I loved my 05 250xc but I can't imagine riding it on the road.

With enough padding anything can be comfortable

I likes this thread. I'm almost bought a plated XR600 but got my jeep instead. Thankfully the owner doesn't ever sell anything he owns so it should be there for a while...

Really depends on your definition of "dual sport". I personally rarely exceed 50-60mph cruising speeds, 60mph is 6000 rpm. The bike sucks on the road, like riding a paint shaker in a hurricane. So to me a 2stroke wouldn't be all that bad.
