Autocross at the BMW plant, Oct. 17

There's an autocross at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, or Greer, or whereever the hell it is. Exit 60 on I-85. Should be okay. They have tons of asphalt. We might be able to convince them to put up a drift course.
But here's the link. Some Clemson folk are going. And it's a LOCAL event, which hardly ever happens up here.
I just wish it was in the dirt.

What awesome Spinx gas station?
And there's a Sunoco near there that sells 100 octane.
And I was more telling the south kakalakie people. You ATL folks have autocrosses like everyday at Turner Field.

Hahaha... the Spinx rules! It's an Exxon that's right next to the Spartanburg plant. It has posters of BMW's near the restroom. They used to have posters in the restroom... but for some reason they took them out. Why this is cool, I have no idea... but last time I was there... the old guy (and I mean old) behind the counter gave me the run-down how "Horny Goat Weed" is a total hoax... and didn't work at all. Hahaha... old people saying "Horny Goat Weed"... BWAAAHAHAHAH!!! That is awesome.
For some reason I always try and stop at that gas station when I'm passing through. I'll usually try and catch some big angle drift action by the Zentrum... but now they have more security patrolling. It's not like the '97 days where you could hang out for an hour e-braking corners.
I would love to make it up to this event. It's been a while since I've been to the plant. I'll be up in Aberdeen for DGTrials Civil War that weekend, though. I'd love to hit it up next time!!!

i'm now registered for the event. it'll be the FOERST auto-x since i did the TII swap and it'll have a new rear end in the car for it as well. this should be fun, i'll probably get sideways a couple times by "accident".
try to make it out guys, this should be sweet. only thing is that you have to register online. there is no registering at the event.

The what? TII swap? Is that the engine you put in? I think I'll check out that link in your sig.
See ya there.

my car has a turbo motor swap into it so i'm placed in the SM2 (street mod 2) class. i'm not going to be too good since i really need new tires. my stock 205/60/15's are holding my back a ton. it'll still be fun though, and also the event is like 5 mins from my house!

Kouki7, I was working the corner after the course crossed itself.
That one slide was crazy. Really glad you didn't hit a lamp post. You should've just drifted around corners, that would've been awesome.
Sorry I didn't stop by and say hey, but I didn't see you in the parking lot and then we split right after it was over.

its cool man. that one slide was soo damn fun! i tryed to pull the back end straight so i could slow down for the long left turn you were working but the back end snapped around really quick on me. i need to get DTSS eliminators for the FC.
DTSS eliminators get rid of the factory rear wheel steering that FC's have. it adjusts the toe angle during hard cornering and actually makes the car feel real unpredictable for drifting and sliding around. thats what made the rear end snap around on me. had a great time though.
i was working at the last cone of the frist slalom and was holding a red flag while working it.

for the rest of you who didn't see my "slide"....
there was a real high speed right hand corner close to the begining of the course. i punched it to early and the ass came out on me. i corrected and held it but i had to slow down for a left handed 180* turn. so i lifted off the gas just a little to try to get the car straight but when i did, it snapped around to the right real hard on me. i tried to correct to catch it but i found my self hitting full lock and the car spun a total 540-720 and came to a stop. i ended up taking out like 6-10 cones and like all the course workers had to rush over to re-do that section of the course. it was hella fun but gave me a DNF on that run.
