dude i was thinking about it some while lying in bed. what if instead of doing tubs, you just made a wall and let the hood be the top of the tub. let me make a sketch. i think it will help the airflow through the engine bay.

If it's how I'm imagining it, it seems like it'd be less fab, and a little weight savings. I'm sure there are some things I'm not taking into account, but it sounds like a good idea.
