As far as strength goes I'm not sure, I didnt do a ton of research about the rb25 gearbox once I found out I didn't need to use it. I know rb26 guys use rb25 transmissions pretty regularly, but I never really looked into the strength comparison.

They are not the same. The VG gearbox has the shift linkage which goes in from the arm behind the transmission (kinda remote shifter). The rb one goes straight in like an SR. For my application, I actually bolted my VG gearbox to the rb bell housing. This allowed me to use my stock trans cross ...

you say the weight distribution with the rb is better? how comes, i dont know the weight of the engine, but think the VG must be a bit lighter, because its a V6? and its 3 cylinders shorter than the rb :)

have you blown the vg, or just swapped it?

Yes, Z32s aren't traditionally drift cars. They are heavy, parts are relatively expensive to fix when they break, and they are harder to find cheap than most of the mainstream cars.
