Re: Corolla discovery thread
Today I discovered a team of angry squirrels at the command of my right foot! That's right... I fixed the ECU!! Garage Zero didn't have an ECU compatible with my engine so I went to work on fixing my own. Fry's had the diode I needed but there was a capacitor I couldn't fully spec because it was so ...

Re: Corolla discovery thread
Well the TPS ohmed out to spec and voltages seemed good, if high. Then I went about testing other things like the AFM and noticed that everything that was supposed to have a max of 5 or 6V was reading 8 instead. I checked the main grounds and found no loops, so decided I might have a bad ECU. Koopa ...

Re: Corolla discovery thread
I downloaded an 87 MR2 FSM and everthing jives so far. One dicivery I didn't mention was how poorly the battery reloction had been done, and I made it temporarily worse by replacing the dead balttery with a smaller lawn battery with loosly stabbed on terminals. So I made it secure enough to drive ar...

Re: Corolla discovery thread
Just jumper/ blink codes, not even sure if they had obd-1 yet. Although there is no "rediness code", the ecu still needs the engine up to temp and stuff before it detects codes according to the stuff online. I want to figure out just which version of GZE I have and get an FSM.

Re: Corolla discovery thread
Boring discoveries from last night, and no pictures. It sucks without pictures huh? Mostly vacuum line issues. Found a check valve hanging out with the other end free so it would have been a boost leak. I pulled that off and relocated the boost gauge line to that port to read vacuum. There was a lar...

Re: Corolla discovery thread
I knew the car had no wipers or motor, but I was glad to find the linkage was still in place in the cowl so I went to pull-a-part. I found a fwd sedan and bought wiper arms that fit and a motor that looks like it will work (connector cut off my harness), as well as some license plate lights and a fe...

Corolla discovery thread
So a lot of you know I bought a Corolla to drift this season. I wasn't planning a build thread since it's already built but it's going to take a lot of work and I figure I'll share and post the discoveries so far. In short... I was told there was a GZE powered coupe with levin front, suspension, dif...

Re: ~ Random Car Pics Thread ~
I think the picture on the back was a cheerleader team. They added rear proximity (ahem, banana) sensors and a backup camera... but it looked a lot like a peephole like in a hotel room.

Re: The new Project finally started...
Have you inspected those factory engine mount isolators? They look very similar to mine (SLK) and they are extremely soft and compliant even when brand new. Might need re-engineered for drift duty.
