was going through a random Mopar board and found this pic.

factory small-block rod that was in a hydrolocked cylinder.

snake rod :D

there was a post on a ford forum of a ford probe turbo (V6 i think) he blew his engine massivly never seen anything else before. there were loads of pics and a video, but i tryed a lot an cant find it again :(

I never saw one like that until I came across it. The story is it's off of a powerboat motor that was turning around 6,000RPM when it hydrolocked. The boat's like those little boats with the multiple course ones run in with the navigator and the driver. A video of that kinda racing is floating around on here somewhere.

that's why we (Mopar guys) can't run stock rods on anything making over 450hp on our small block motors. Our tolerances weren't that great back in the '70's and '80's either. :cry:

Funny thing is, that was a good conrod in terms of engine failure...I'd much rather have that happen then have the sumbitch break.
