Well... here is a small update...

I got the power steering pump and alternator put on the block and test fit it. Turns out the stock location for the power steering pump is NOT gonna work out. It hits the frame. I'm going to try to relocate it to the driver side but I am worried about the amount of belt contact I will have if doing that. I have some brain storming to do.... on to pictures:

Poorly put together panoramic of the shop..

So far a S13 Coupe, 280Z, Talon TSI, Grand National, Z31, S13 Hatch.

The other day I helped my roommate put a Stillen intake and Cat Back on his G37.

That's all for now. Will update when I figure out what to do with the PS pump.

Yeah, I saw his set up. I am going to see if I can get the relocated pump to work. If not, I may need to go that route. I just need to look into cost. Would be a lot better I think.

Well I pulled the motor back out and pulled the pump off. I was going to work on the mounts but my drill ran out of juice so I went ahead and cut and re-welded my shift linkage.

And then I put the motor back in to see how it sits.

Major thanks to Rev-Em-Hard/Chris Vallet for the idea!

I was making the mount plates from 1/8th in plate but I think I'm gonna step it up to 1/4 in.

Okay so I'm looking into standalone options. I have been looking into the Vi-Pec as well as an AEM universal.

I'm also looking into the Performance Electronics PE3.

Any other suggestions? Not gonna lie I don't know much about the topic but I'm researching.

Sky's the limit, really. Biggest thing is whatever falls within your budget and what your tuner is comfortable with if you're not going to tune it yourself.

I'm kind of lean toward the Performance Electronics but I gotta find a good tuner and see what he would recommend.

Well, I'm moving on this build again, though slowly.

Since my last update I worked 11 years in the 3d scanning industry for Honda for 6.5 years, and the space, aerospace, and defense industry for 3 years and then in the racing industry for a year and a half.

So I decided to get nerdy with it.

Reached out to a few 3d scanning companies and get sent this scanner to utilize for my little project.

I am scanning the engine and transmission combo and then the engine bay and trans tunnel and doing a digital assembly to find my interferences as well as design my engine and transmission mounts. Essentially the same process I used to design mounts for some tube frame chassis to adapt different engines without a whole bunch of trial and error.

FOERST I cleaned my shop:

Then I did a scanning:

Long form video if you are a nerd:

Here is the completed scan of the engine.

P.S. If y'all need anything scanned let me know.

My inner Beavis wants to scan my butt.

All jokes aside, this rules!!! I had no idea you were doing that and it's rad as shit that you're getting nerdy with it!! Digital assembly sounds like such a smart way to build!

Funny story...

At my last job, we scanned everything... This dude that was buddies with the owner had this billion dollar idea to make wheel chocks for semi truck drivers in the shape of a butt. He brought his girlfriend in with yoga pants on and asked if we could scan her butt and make a model to be used for his brilliant invention called... the butt chocks.

And yeah the digital assembly takes a lot of guess work out.

@struka.. will be sending it to you for final design review.
