XDC June 18-19 Summit Point Main Course, WV

Post by conspire »

I know some of you have made the trek to VA before (and Andy attended this event ~5 years ago I think, but hasn't been back) and this is just a little up and to the side, but well worth it. I'd say the party that goes on both nights is way more fun than the actual drifting, but this time around there's a lot of cash up for grabs. Hope to see you there!!1

HYPER-FEST:
This round of the X D C is going to be the most different in terms of format when compared with the rest of the season due to partnership with the 9th Annual NASA Hyper-fest. Summit Point Raceway also has several racetracks as part of their venue, as a result, there will be lots of other motorsports happening simultaneously while we are still holding the third round of our series.

REGISTRATION:
Online pre-registration deadline is at 1:00PM on Wednesday, June 16, 2010. You can register online at the X D C website under the schedule tab, and then click the driver registration link for the Summit Point, WV event. No refunds are available for this event. On site registrations are available pending spaces remain, however this event generally fills up in advance, therefore to ensure that you have a spot in the competition you should pre-register online as early as possible. NOTE: In addition to your entry fee, all competitors, crew, and spectators are required to purchase gate admission tickets at this event. Gate admission tickets for the weekend are $20.00 each.

FORMAT:
This event will be a 2 day event. There will be practice sessions and top 16 qualifying on Friday and a brief practice session and the tandem competition on Saturday. Judging will be done by Chris Forsberg, Matt Petty, and Michael Schneider.

DRIVER ELIGIBILITY:
All drivers not ranked in the top 16 at the end of the 2009 Formula DRIFT professional series season are eligible to attend. If you are a licensed Formula DRIFT driver, you just need to make sure you adhere to all guidelines set forth in your driver agreements with Formula DRIFT. Any questions regarding this, please contact Andy Luk at Formula DRIFT by phone at 562-901-2600 or via email at andy@formulad.com.

PRIZES:

LODGING:

CAMPING:
Anyone who has attended Hyper-fest in the past knows this is the best option to party this weekend. Camping is included with admission and allowed both nights at this event for all competitors. There are several showers, bathrooms, and power hookups available for RV’s. NOTE: Per track policy, there is no spectator camping allowed on Friday night, spectators may camp only on Saturday, June 19.

HOTELS:
If you prefer not to camp, there are a few hotels available for you to choose from, however, they are all at least 15 minutes away from the track. The following two hotels generally offer a limited number of discounted rooms for Hyper-fest, so when booking mention you are attending Hyper-fest at SP or attending the NASA race at SP and it may help you pending rooms are still available.

TIRE MOUNTING:
Phil's Tire Service will be on site Friday and Saturday. If you need to purchase tires and have them brought to the event, please call Phil’s Tire Service at 1-845-647-7407 and ask for Kim. Plan ahead and do not wait until the week of the week of the event to place your order.
