Snowboard/Ski trip sometime soon?
anybody interested in making a day/overnight type trip to any of the NC ski areas sometime after the 1st of the year?
Cataloochee is only 2hrs from my house
http://www.cataloochee.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Beech and Sugar mountains are about 3 hours from my house and both bigger than Cataloochee.
http://www.skibeech.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.skisugar.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
yeah they're no vail or breckenridge for you uppity elitist powder pricks, but they're close to home and a good place to go for a fun day in the snow without totally breaking the bank.
if anyone is interested let's make a plan. keep in mind weekdays are cheaper for both lift tickets and rentals, not to mention a lot less people in the way and shorter lines at the lifts. Cataloochee is an easy day trip, but i prefer over nighters at beech/sugar since they're a bit further out there.

I'd love to go, it's been years. But no trips happening for me till I find work.

I'd love to go skiing again, haven't done that in about a decade.

i think they made by ride. once you get them set for your boot they are supposed to be really easy to get in and out of. no sitting down to strap in. the backs drop way down so your boot just slides in under the toe strap. the you pull the back piece up and lock it in. tried em out and they worked pretty good, but that was sitting on a chair with carpet under my feet. so curious if its just as easy on the snow standing/leaning over.icantdrift wrote:revel wrote:i am down for this! need to break in the new board and try out the trick new bindings

I'd be pretty interested if I could afford it, haven't been in like 10 years but I'd love to try it again.

I loved my Flow bindings.
I haven't been snowboarding in way too long.

I need to get out there again...I've never attempted to do any trick shit. I just love putting on some music and getting out there and riding.

I've never been, but I think Kath has. And if I mention it to her she'd be down for sure.
