how can you tell if your wastegate Actuator has gone bad?

like when you get fire suppresant and water inside of it.

the heat would harm it more than the chemicals. i would run with it and see if the boost is stable and where you want it to be.

I found out a friend has an actuator (sp) from a Volvo that he said I could try out too.
