someone tried to steal my car today

i'm sitting here minding my own business at work and the asian dude from the nail place next door comes in asking if anyone owns the "blue nissan" parked in the back lot. as soon as i heard the urgency in his voice i knew it was bad. he told me some mexicans (no offense my spanish friends, but the dude saw them up close and knew their nationality) just tried to jack my ride!

i bolted outside and luckily my car was unhurt. he saw them fucking with the car and made his presence known (he was smoking behind his building where he could see my car) and they immediately took off. so the fun begins playing super sleuth. i punch up our security cameras and start looking aroudn to see what i can see.

the events were as followed:

at appoximately 4:45 a black/dark colored early 90's Ford Explorer pulls into the parking lot from jesse jewell pkwy, pulls in past our FOERST outside camera and proceeds to park on the opposite side of the parking lot from my car. within about a minute a guy in a white shirt and white hat walks from the SUV, past our install bay toward the front of the parking lot and off camera. another minute and 30 secs later the Ford backs out of the space it's in and immediately pulls around and parks next to my car (no other cars around mine at all). seconds later the white shirt/hat guy comes from near the other building and walks up to my car and starts playing with the door. the guy from the nail place saw him stick a key in, most likely a shaved one. after they hear the nail guy they bolt out the back of the parking lot. every bit on video . in fact, if i'd parked where i was originally going to after lunch, my car would've been off camera and out of view of the nail place, so i'm thankful for it being where it was. what really gets me is they came into the lot for that one reason, to get my car. it wasn't a customer that randomly saw it and tried to get into it, they pulled in and went right for it. pretty good chance they'll come back again too.

So now i'm PISSED. now i have to come to work every day wondering if my car will be out there when i leave . i'm ready to beat everyone i see looking at my car wrong. unfortunately our cameras have to be enhanced on computers to see the tag or noticeable fatures of the guy in question, but at least i know the record is there in case they come back. i'm working on finding out if i can bring in a laptop and somehow download the part of the vid where the truck passes to get the tag and to hunt them down. i'm feeling pretty vengeful right now. i put a sticky note on the insde of the window that reads, "turn around and wave you stupid fucks, you're on camera!".

I hate car stealing mother f@ckers, i had my old civic broke into right in front of my window of my old APT, so i know what you mean everyone looks like there going to steel something. But watch out dude they will probably come back the usaly do.

That really sucks about your car man. Have they invented alarms yet that electrocute perps? It'd probably do a lot more harm than good but just think of how sweet the victory would taste if you walked out to your car and saw a would-be thief fried to a crisp and looking like Chester Copperpot.

But about your question, getting the footage off of the tape is easy. Enhancement however, is not. That's better left up to forensics and NASA. On detective shows, you hear the character tell the computer geek "enhance that for me, zoom in on the plate!" but it doesn't really work like that. I'm sure there is some high end software out there (probably the same used to process Andy's toll booth violations

) but the reality for you and I is that it all boils down to the chicken salad from chicken shit theory. Hopefully you will be able to see enough on the tape to give some sort of accurate description of those assholes. Good luck!

fuckin mexicans.. am hispanic (not mexican haha) they really just put our name into what it is today, thevies. I fuckin hate it. I'd say put a lowjack in there. Anyway to post pics of what you saw?

If you find out the Tag let me know I can get it run for you, and we can show up at there place with bats in hand to fuck up there rides and faces. Also I would still let the cops know they MIGHT do something, if you get a good cop.

Do you have an Alarm on U're car? I got one just for that reason. The more and More Drifting gets popular ppl are gonna have more and more rides stolen. Get one with the 2 way paging system on it. That way if you'r with in 2000-3000 feet of your car it'll let you know. And you can check the status of your car at anytime.
I can pull outta my Neighborhood and go to the gas station down the road and it'll still check the status, lock/unlock, remote start, etc.. Thats why you want one of those.

i'm not looking to throw down that kind of cash on an alarm, i'm going to engineer my own immobilizer system for the car instead. in fact i already have "engineered" and immobilizer, i pulled the igniter out today and it's in my pocket right now

. love to see them try to take my shit without that.

Igniter? You mean like cigarette lighter? I'm not sure if that would work with my car cuz I think it will still run without the lighter, plus it wouldn't be that big of a deal for the thief to just stop and pick up a new one at QuickTrip on his way to Tiajuana. Frameless windows 4 life!

That sucks man. You should put a kill switch like Kouki7 did and then put a flamethrower under both doors that will go off if someone messes with the car
