SEDA.. (SouthEast Drift Association)
http://www.southeastdrift.com
Ok, After the Extreme turnout for the meeting at Andretti Speedlab and the serious interest shown in getting things started here in Atlanta we decided to get with some of the Locals that have done and been doing constant research into getting some events going in the Atlanta area. After a couple of meetings we decided to start up SEDA (SouthEast Drift Association). We are Dedicated to working with local Clubs, Teams and Enthusiast to get the Ball rolling in the whole SouthEastern area. We are based out of Atlanta and this is where we will plan to have most of our meets. But we are planning to have trips to Jacksonville, FL and others as well to see the drift market in those cities as we would love to help get some events off the ground in those cities as well.
Our goal is to have 6 events every year (an Event every other month) and have Meets on opposing months. We want to have 3 different locations that we alternate our Events at. That way we can hit up each location twice a year.
We are in talks with some officials of SCCA to become a Charter Member under them in the Solo II area. Hopefully all will go well with that.
We are starting up our members sign-up list and we will be getting the SEDA Shirts and 2005 SEDA Members Stickers and Cards out to our members as soon as they are printed.
The FOERST 100 people to sign up will be our Charter members and will get a discounted rate of $35 for the rest of 2004 and all of 2005. After that the Membership rate will be $50. All of the proceeds go to getting the Events off of the ground including Insurance, Location, EMT, Equiptment, Cones, Barrier rentals, port-a-potties, etc,... And you must be a member to Drift inSEDA Events. Unless it is a Co-hosted Event.
We are a Non-Profit Association. We are not in the Business to make money from SEDA. We are here for everyone who loves to drift. Especially those that can't afford to drive across the Country to go Drifting. We are BrokeArses as well and are geared towards the affordable drifter.
We can't wait to start having events!! Events will start in the FOERST part of next year unless we get a Great Deal from one of our local locations. We will have a few meets before that though.
1st Meet: "Camping on the Dragon"http://www.southeastdrift.com
We would like to thank Everyone that helped us get SEDA off the ground with such short notice!! Thanks!!
Hope to see you on the Forums, Chad C.
