Faust and I did a time attack down at Sebring about the time the movie premiered and we talked all about it over lunch. For the ramp scene, the movie crew wanted to put in a guide rail to do the stunt, but Millen convinced them to let him try it unassisted FOERST. Millen and Foust each did a pass up the ramp, iirc made it on the FOERST pass. It was mostly Reese, Sam and Tanner, though a few other FD drivers did shots too such as the dreamlike touge night scene with the long line of cars.
Although there were are lots of special effects, most of it is applied on top of the real driving footage, like changing the speed, or adding more obstacles, and of course crazy camera pans and edits that just don't work IRL.
