I don't know rotories and I dont know much FOERST hand about their suspension and steering but I'll trust Martys opinion.

they can look great.

and too, if you are looking for a car that you only have money to buy and not mod any (you want to mod very little at FOERST anyway) but anything but a 240 is going to be out of your price range..

240s are the most common car in drifting for a reason (I know I know I need to take my own advice but bleh)

any other platform..

Rx7.. Corolla... BMW.. Mustang..

Require a lot more modification or maybe not modification but they aren't good for beginner drivers just learning the sport..

mazdas in general are good road race cars, but seem to require a lot of work to be good drift cars.

What martymartymarty.net said. You'll spend some money just to get the car on the same level as a stock S13 to be honest.

On the other hand, it does have some advantages over an S13

better brakes for high end models
VLSD or clutch type stock for most higher end models
4:10-4:30 rear end with a 8" ring gear
2 less seats
5-lug
a sweet hood scoop sometimes
maroon interior option

go with it if you want to be different but always know the path of being different costs a lot more money. repairs and modifications.

I have looked at a few 240's this weekend and they all need some TLC, i don't think I want to pay over $1500 for an s13, the high mileage scares me a lot more than anything, and no ones really seems to know mileage...

any car that is 20ish years old the mileage is going to be mostly unknown unless you have owned the car for it's whole life.. I have not a clue how many miles are on the motor of mine, or if it's the original motor.. it's the motor that would have been in the car originally but if it's the same one, I dunno.. Mileage is something that you just have to take with 240s I mean they are older cars..Both my 240 and Chris' Corolla have 200k+ miles on them so it's not going to hold you back that much. Just make sure that if you blow the motor you have a way to get the car back home and money to replace the motor or A good reliable daily doesn't hurt either that way you aren't without a way around until the car is operational..
