E39 V8.
That is one car that really should stay all-BMW in my opinion.
unhinged......no, not really.

not a fan of different manufacturer engine swaps, unless it's an LS series V8, but not in any rotary car.

The character that Evelyn puts out. It just screams "Eternal-darkness-forever(?) BMW" to me.

hmmm... 2jz or vq.
depends on what andy is wanting from the car..
staying tru to bmw power is a costly mistake in the long run unless your pocketbooks are hella deep.

I would say depending on how long he wants to live with it....that school I'll be attending has a BMW-related graduate school.....thingy. I just wish I could help somehow, but I don't have the knowledge needed.

NONE OF THIS EXPLAINS WHY. Eugene explains why not. i suggested 2 motors that have stock 250-300hp. the 2jz because it would probably be easier to wire this motor into the car. the vq because i think the power would suit andy's driving style.Greg wrote:not a fan of different manufacturer engine swaps, unless it's an LS series V8, but not in any rotary car.

while it does not give a factual explanation into the reasoning, sometimes people's reasoning can go against the facts (and HP figures).
ok, what if the wiring harness changed after the E36 model, thus possibly making it harder to swap engines into the E46 chassis unless you took all of the wiring out and started fresh?

Re: BMW of DETH Build - HYDRO WORKS!!!
I don't really want to hack the car up to do any crazy engine swaps. For what I use the car for... I feel like it is just fine. At the end of the day... I'm really done dumping money into the car. I just want to drive it and have fun with my friends - which it is plenty capable of where it is at now.
Re: BMW of DETH Build - HYDRO WORKS!!!
Not really. Anything more than what I have now is too expensive. Even to get another 100hp out of a supercharger will cost $5500.Mischif wrote:But medium power is possible, right? You're running ~170whp now; you would be unstoppable with ~250-300.andysapp wrote:Honestly big power will probably never happen. It just costs too much money for this car.
That's five months of mortgage payments on my house... or I could build a damn 240 with that much.
It just isn't worth it to me.
Re: BMW of DETH Build - HYDRO WORKS!!!
exactly!!! i mean.. why add more power when you could have a 99 Civic Si coupe money?
