Yeah, sorry I didn't post last night but the lack of sleep and cold were getting to me. The track layout was just not what andy needed with the clutch issues and there was also some push going on. He did fine on the infield sections but the car just wouldn't get sideways on the banking. I'm sure he'll do better in the atl without banking and slipping clutch. We're about to head out for todays festivities. Be back later

Well the event went well and Rhys owned all from the get go. The man didn't spin once all weekend and he deserved it for sure. Pfifer(sp?) finished second and had a really good showing but spun in the final round. There was excellent drifting going on with a lot of passes being made. Tarzan did a demo that was very impresive sliding all the way around both ends of the high banked oval in the Viper.

The event was well worth the drive. new jersey on the other hand is not. This state sucks and we all want out ASAP! You can't make left turns, pump your own gas, and smokes are $6.50 a pack! It is also home of the inconvenience store which is a gas station with the food mart in the parking lot next door. It is a horrible place and I can't beleive it's still on the list of states. Andy showed em what's up at the packed Olive Garden by providing the patrons with some smoked rubber via a standing burnout at the entrance. Which was almost as cool as the traffic drift. You see when they shrink down the traffic to one lane, have cones in the highway, and Andy gets bored; good stuff happens. This was luckily caught on tape and should appear soon. I can't wait for atl. Farewell new jersey and good riddance!

ok, after a 22 hour haul we're back. i have to say that this is possibly the most exhausted i've ever felt in my life, and i'm so damn happy to be home. the driving and new jersey as a state sucked hardcore, but luckily the event was a blast. chris summed it up pretty well so i won't add too much, but here are a few of my thoughts.

FOERST, new jersey is stupid. it was real cold and all i had was a hoodie, so i didn't take my hands out of my pocket and take as many pics as i should have (although i still probably got 700 or so). rhoad took a lot though, so between us we'll have something decent. aside from that, NJ is still a horrible place and i highly discourage you from going there. you can't make left turns, pump your own gas, and the highway signs are backwards (all 5 of us are straight up positive that we got on a south-bound interstate and we ended up 20 minutes outside of NYC yesterday). it also smells bad, has tons of trash, sub-par girls (sorta, a few were quite hot), and nothing fun to do (except terrorize parking lots and do burnouts in front of olive garden). oh, the turnpike (which you will get lost on) costs way too much as well.

next, the event was good. andy freaking tore it up but as you heard, he didn't qualify for the next day (i don't think many people realize how tough that actually is though). friday, there were 30 (?) drivers out there and only 10 would move on, and this year it happened that quite a few of those guys were already D1 drivers that just hadn't been in FD last year or they were on a huge company backed team like falken. the track was also really meant for a higher powered car and i can only image what drifting on a nascar-style bank was like (with a dead clutch) but it looked tricky. after the banked turn however, andy had it nailed so we'll post up vids later and everyone can see. there were some awesome drivers and cars out there though and i can't wait to see how the rest of the season pans out (aside from rhys winning the whole thing as that seems to be a given this year).

we had plenty of other notable events that we'll be sure to post videos and pics of but for now i'm gonna attempt to get some sleep (i apologize if parts of this dont make any sense too, i've been up way too long).

Hehehe... all issues with traveling (and Joisey) aside... it was an amazing trip! I had a strong hunch the clutch would do what it did... and the hunch was pretty dead on. It sucks in one aspect - since that was a contributing factor to me not moving on... but it didn't (and doesn't) bother me. It was simply amazing just being out there in the FOERST place. I had SUCH a blast. My only expectation going into this weekend was to go out there, tear into that track, and have fun... I came away from this weekend with everything I had hoped for... so I'm a happy camper.

It was rad to see old friends (Chip & Tara where you at?!?!), as well as meeting so many new people. I can't wait for Atlanta... it's going to be AWESOME!!!

Hehehe... I think I had just as much fun drifting off the track on this trip. The highway drifting was pretty damn rad... and the Saturday night drift demo in the Ukranian Outreach Center was priceless!!! I think my pilons are still set up there, lol!

MEGA HUGE THANKS to the entire dM kru that made the trek with me, endured what is quite possible the shartiest state in the union, and helped me out so much. I couldn't have done it with out you guys... you are all too awesome!!!

I'll post some more up lata... I'm at work playing catch up.

I busted my ass on Saturday ( 2.5 hours of sleep) then worked from 7.30-past midnight...then went to NYC after

omg! I found out why we weren't allowed to pump our own gas in Jersey. Mustang Tony used to live there and he told me that someone caught themselves on fire at the gas station and then sued the state!!!

So...b/c of that ass-hat, we all had to suffer through long lines and endless waiting.

From what I hear NJ is heavily unionized and the gas pumping thing is just one proof of that.
