I don't have it on the car anymore. It was either leave it on, and not drive at the event last saturday... or put the OE switch back on and run.
So I went for option 2.

The fact that the dude wouldn't even give me the damn PDF with the detailed instructions made me pretty mad. In my eyes, he said 'fuck you... you didn't spend enough money for the instructions'.

This is really where my confusion lay. How does the block need to be oriented so that you can torque it down right.

interesting picture showing two different orientations on the same photo. basically i'd just get to where i can see the sealing surface on the engine where the sensor used to go, then hold it up in there and turn different ways until it can clear everything and sit flat against the surface. does it attach behind the oil filter housing right above the alternator?

but that is two different orientations, given the points of reference at least.

Yeah... it is. That is where the confusion lay... and if Privvy McGee would have just thrown me a freaking bone since it is his product... this thing would be installed, and I wouldn't have oil all over my garage floor.

This is a rare instance where I'm actually pissed that I paid money and supported this company. They won't be getting any referrals from me... that is for certain.

Erin, it bolts on to the oil filter housing just above the alternator, but what was hard is on the banjo bolt there is only one hole for oil to pass through, so we were trying to line that hole up with the hole and opening on the distribution block. So while tightening I figured we were trying to keep those in line, I tightened until I felt it was tight enough without stripping. It wasn't sealing. Honestly, could it have gone further. Probably. However, I did not want to be the one that strips out Andy's oil filter housing the night before the event. Sorry about the oil on the floor Andy.

if the block is machined correctly it shouldn't matter which way the hole in the bolt points, there should be a galley around the area of the hole for it to flow out regardless.

Well if that is the case, we can give it another go, I was just worried about stripping the housing itself, the task itself is very fesible.

so this useless company (guy)? didnt give so much as a torque spec for the banjo bolt?

No. He says he has never been able to get a torque wrench back there to spec it properly.

hmm.. i agree on the oil galley for the banjo bolt. it should be recessed all the way around and oil pressure will cause the oil to find the hole in the banjo. the oil filter housing is aluminum i'd guess? any one else that bought the whole guage setup willing to share info.. e46fanatics..etc?
