So my friend decides to swap an RX7 into his Miata. Or is it swap a Miata shell into the RX7? You decide...

Let's start at the back...looks ordinary enough...

Until you go closer and your eyes pop out

Fuel cell, RX7 coilovers horizontally mounted!

RX7 brakes...wait are those 5 lugs? Yup RX7 suspension transplant. The wheelbase is longer. Those flares are beaten metal.

The engine...something strike you as unusual about the engine bay?

Yup, it's not an engine transplant, it's an engine BAY transplant! RX7 suspension mount!

Custom air box, with an air filter bypass system at WOT (Reed valves).

Airbox fed by motorized air intake (!)

The interior:
RX7 instrument panel grafted onto the Miata. And flocked!

Notice the RX7 handbrake. Yes the entire drivetrain and suspension has been replaced. Even the RX7 PPF is on, on the opposite side.

The best modification of the airbag panel ever!

I saw this car start as a bare shell on a rotisserie, this thing is nuts.

not the flares, they moved the front fender arches way forward to fit the wheelbase.

Guess he opted to ignore the big white lettering on the top of the cell

Overall pretty cool, seems like a lot of work to just have an RX7 in Miata skin though.
