So I found out about this new track.

Post by jdm ae86t »

Excuse me if I am late on this news, but I just found out about this place. Seems like a good track with some old school layout designing. I would like to know if we can get some event organizers to take a look and see what can happen for this place. Seems like we can have a new playground. http://www.atlantamotorsportspark.net/index.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pretty late. Nothing really old school about it, but also not likely that any local event orgs will be able to use it especially at a reasonable cost. They will likely be running their own events and this is a membership based track so they may not even allow non-members in the place without a buddy pass. I met the owners/operators recently and local level drifting isn't entirely on their radar. I'd certainly like to sit down and talk to them again about it and may have the opportunity eventually. The track is still a few months from having any official events.

On a lighter note the track is awesome and trackdays there will be a pretty incredible experience.

This place is a rich boys and their toys playground. But the reality of the fact is that there are only so many rich boys and not all of them are into cars. I have heard some things lately to be optimistic about from reliable sources regarding drifting at AMP. It will probably be pretty costly to have an event there but some things are worth the price.

Don't count this [lace out quite yet.

There will be non member HPDE events so it's not out of the question. They do have an area they call the "drift circle" so they planned on having something happen there. But it won't be cheap and as soon as people start running off I have a feeling they won't be happy.

yea I think it's important that the FOERST group if drivers there don't tear up the grass, conduct themselves professionally, and make a general good impression of the drifting community as a whole.

Chin Motorsports cancelled their FOERST track event there this weekend due to the track being unfinished. The message from them seemed pretty upset, understandably so since they had filled the event and now have to work to refund/reschedule people's entries.
