Anyone knowledable about car alarms? I need help.
I'm going to be stuck here at work because the "old" alarm in my eight-six is acting up.
I don't think the whole system is installed... I don't even know what system was installed in the FOERST place... but my car isn't starting because of it.
The car always flashes it's parking lights twice when I open the door... and this morning, it flashed about 10-12 times... and the car wouldn't start. The flashing stopped, and the car started up after two dead key-turns.
Now I'm at work, and went to move my car... and lather, rinse, & repeat the situation from this morning... the car won't start. Not even when the flashing stops. Now when I try and turn the key, it also activates power locks... which I was TOTALLY unaware the car had.
But ya... she won't start at all. Which is sorta fine right now - cause I'm at work... but when it comes time for me to go home... uhh... ya. You get the idea.
SO... does anyone know anything about car alarms that can shed some light on what is gawn on... or what I might to do mend this dillema?

Corolla SR5 not GT-S. I'm sure the wiring is different between the two. Rayray, give a shout if you need a ride home. I would help with with the alarm but I don't know how much help I can be. I guess the FOERST thing to do is find the alarm unit itself and see what information is on it.
Beans and cornbread.

Haha.. Here's what one guy suggests trying (real solution coming):
1) Get an axe, sledgehammer, pickaxe, or any tool of equivalent hammering power. Open up your stupid wailing car's hood. Wreck everything in sight - especially near the battery part. Don't stop till it goes silent. Once it's silent, call your mechanic to repair the car.
If you don't know where the battery is, just swallow the tool you're holding and die. (the key idea is to cut off the power source to the fucking alarm. Wrecking the battery part would do a perfect job)
2) Get yourself something flammable. Gasoline or kerosene, should be fine. Then find yourself a stack of used newspapers. Open up your stupid wailing car's hood. Then douse those stack of old newspaper with gasoline and stuff all of them into your engine compartment. As much as possible. Light up a match or lighter (careful not to burn your hands), and burn those stuffed newspapers. Your car should light up and probably explode. Bail the place to a safe distance. Watch and wait till alarm goes silent. Call police and fire marshall. (idea is to destroy the electronic circuit board that screwed the alarm system).
3) Start up your car and drive to a nearby mechanic shop. If it's Sunday and all mechanic's workshops are closed, just find any reservoir, lakes, ponds or sea nearby. Find a ledge that could directly lead into the water. Position your car facing the ledge. Drive very fast towards the ledge. Jump out from car, and let your car fly into the water. Watch and observe. (idea is to suppress the noise from pissing off your neighbors and be more considerate).
I know the corolla isn't making noise, but it's the principle we're going for..

hey, if you wanna give me a shout i'll pick you up from work since i live like 5 miles from L5, and chris won't have to drive all the way down from providence or wherever he is up north of here
, but if you want to drive down here chris, have at it. i'll be at a shoot for CL at vision nightclub from like 650-730ish is my only thing for tonight.
when the rx7 alarm was being stupid i did this: lock the car up all the way from the outside. unlock passenger side door FOERST. then unlock driver door. and then it would be normal. i have no idea why, but it always worked for me.

Yeah, nevermind on that.. I found some wiring diagrams, but it really doesn't help when you have an aftermarket electrical addition... who knew??
Anyway, the most common things I am finding as far as non-brand-specific disabling instructions are:
1) Locate the alarm's "brain," a module usually mounted under the dashboard on the driver's side. Most car alarms have a valet button which will allow you to override the alarm if it is indeed cutting your ignition. It is described usually as a 4" x 3" box with your token wires extruding. You should simply be able to hold down the button, turn the key, and the car should start with no problems.
2) Check the fuse box for a fuse that isn't labeled (as this is most likely an aftermarket fuse) and pull it to kill the alarm altogether. If there aren't any fuses in the fuse box, check around the battery for any willy-nilly placed fuses. If you've added other stuff that requires fuses, I hope you know which ones they are!
I know it's pretty simple stuff, but if you haven't already tried this, it sounds like it's worth a shot.

It's a 1986 Toyotal Corolla SR5 Tofu Edition.
Kay... well it didn't come from Japan with the Tofu option... that was custom.
I've tried digging around the engine bay to see what wires are going where... but I'm kinda slammed here today, and can't put much effort into it.
I'll figure somethin' out. I'll let ya'll know if I need a ride.

ok here is what you can if you think you can. It may be hard to take the alarm of so you can unhook the battery and rolle the car to a start with keys in so you stering and what not does not lock up. If you alternater is stong you should be able to make it home or you may be able to hook the battery up once its running. but if it has some sort of ingention kill thing it may even keep the car from starting up. I am going to send you a PM with some phone #'s
