I didn't have a falling out with all my sponsors... only one really. The Unsponsored(tm) sticker was in reference to a tyre sponsor. I still hold Dunlop in high regard... and would have loved to work with them this season. Who knows what will happen. Maybe things can work out and we can continue the relationship we built this past year... but as it stood for the three events this past weekend - I was without a tyre sponsor.
I ran on used tyres this past weekend... to which my massive understeering problem during FD qualifying would prove to be a factor. I have NEVER had a problem understeering... but when driving on the same front tyres that were on the car in Irwindale last September for the final round, I guess I can only expect a performance loss.
I am talking to two other tyre companies about marketing opportunities this season. I would REALLY love to continue to work with Dunlop... they make a great tyre, and it was awesome working with them this past year. We will have to see how things turn out.
