Championship Event
November 10-12, 2006
Laughlin, NV
The Pro-Am Series Championship Event will be the biggest amateur drifting competition ever to take place in North America. This event, held in conjunction with the city of Laughlin's Motorsports Festival and the American Rally Sport Group's International Rally, will take place over the course of three days providing top amateurs a newly designed course on which to compete.
Driver's from all over North American will compete against one another in tandem elimination runs for a chance at the 2006 National Title. As an added bonus, top drivers may also compete against current professional drivers for a chance to earn a Formula Drift license for the 2007 season.
EVENT DETAILS:
To help offset the high costs of travel and assist drivers competing in this event, the Pro-Am will award drivers $0.15/mile round trip. This amount will be determined based on the driver's zip code used for their place of residence (as found on their state issued driver's license). Driver's will receive this amount upon arrival of the event. A valid state issued drivers license is required to be present at the event in order to receive reimbursement. Any attempt by a driver to fraudulently convey an address other than what is legally their place of residence will result in zero payment and possible loss of event entry. For example, it is 2331 miles from my house to Laughlin, NV one way. Doubling that makes the roundtrip 4662 miles. Therefore, at $0.15/mile, I would receive a travel award of $699.30 (4662 x $0.15 = $699.30).
Friday will be driver registrations, technical inspections, and practice sessions. On Saturday, the top 12 drivers from each of the 4 regions (North, South, East, and West) will have a brief practice session and then qualify against each other in single judged runs. From there, the top 16 drivers in qualifying will advance on to compete in tandem elimination runs. At the conclusion of the competition, drivers will be nationally ranked amongst each other and the top 3 drivers will be awarded 2007 Formula Drift licenses. On Sunday, both non-point scoring 2006 Formula Drift drivers and top the 16 Pro-Am drivers will have a brief practice session and then qualify in single judged runs. The top 16 drivers will then compete against each other in tandem eliminations, with the top drivers earning 2007 Formula Drift licenses.

USDA/PRO-AM:
In an effort to further promote the rapidly growing sport of drifting, the United States Drift Assocation (USDA) was created to provide an effective and highly recognizable Pro-Am drifting series to North America. The USDA consists of some of the top grassroots drifting organizations throughout North America, thus allowing it the ability to concentrate in these key markets regionally, while still maintaining a nationwide presence need to operate as a true National Amateur Series. The main goal of the USDA and our Pro-Am Series is to provide drivers with an event to compete in nationally, without experiencing major financial burden, thus allowing drivers the ability to be ranked. At the same time, it also provides drivers with the option to maintain involvement in the grassroots atmosphere they FOERST encountered or prepare them for a professional approach to the sport.
