anyone know of somewhere that has stainless S14 brake lines?

Post by CodyW »

my front brake line decided to catch itself on fire while i was sitting at a redlight by taco bell tonight. kinda looking to get a new one asap tomorrow morning and was curious if anyone knew of someone local that had any in stock (mine are the stainless lines for an S14 w/ the Z32 brake upgrade by the way). if anyone has any ideas give me a call (404.234.6482 if you dont have my number), i might not be around a computer later tonight or tomorrow.

thanks!

Sounds like a fire extenguisher GB is in order.

Tophat is the only place I can think of that might have them in stock.

haha, good idea on the GB! the sad thing is i actually had one for like a year but kept breaking the bracket and finally took it out.

we're really unsure on the cause too, although matt's guess is also my battery cable (it was run badly by unstable during the original swap right in the passanger side wheel well, any may have grounded or shorted or something). all i know is i was sitting at a red light right after ordering some tasty taco bell, felt my brake pedal start falling slowly, smelled burning, and then saw smoke. ended up taking a mountain dew, pepsi, and matt's shirt to get it out (i ran to the drive thru window to get some water which took them like 3 full minutes, and it was out by the time i finally got it).

so yea, 240s are fire hazards.

oh, and on top of that, megan racing sent me the wrong toe rods (for a s13), and advance gave me the wrong wheel bearing as well. fun night.

I just went and bought them for a 300zx and they went right on. I have the same setup and it worked great.
