cody's super ghetto drift car rebuild photo diary (56k no.)

Post by CodyW »

ok, since we're going through this overly exciting rush period of rebuilding my car/motor in the span of like 4 days, i figured i'd post up a few pics of the progress so far. matt has been an awesome help by the way, and there's no way i could've done any of this without his skilzzz. also, thanks to clint for helping out and lisa for cooking spaghetti sunday night.

start by pulling the blown SR during the time it takes for lisa to cook spaghetti. then go eat and call it a night.

get lots of wheels. take as many as you can stuff into a co-workers PT cruiser to GTE to get mounted, and then leave the rest at the office to stare at.
Image

Image

get oil on your hands, and then tear down the blown motor.
Image

Image

find the destroyed piston, then check out all the others as well.

Image

take random pics of torn apart motor.
Image

install SR heads and cams on dryer for added power.

(not pictured)
eat taco bell, then go sleep.

more to come tomorrow, hopefully piston rings will be here and we can put the motor back together.

yes indeed. we're hoping to have it back together in a day or 2 so there should be decent break-in time.

and yea, the new wheels came out pretty cool. they sent the wrong color, and at FOERST i wasn't really sure what i thought of them but they're definately growing on me (picked those as they were the widest 18 i could get at 18x9 +25, but i think they'll be cool on the car). plus, i've got enough that i can paint/powedercoat a few if i get bored, but i'll probably just keep them that way for now.

HOLY SHIT THOSE WHEELS ARE AWESOMENESSSSSS!11

It looks like you're making radical progress. Is it looking good to have her back up and running?!? OMG I hope so.
:D

How are you getting the car to Nashvegas if she's back running?

we're hoping she'll be back together today or tomorrow, so nashvegas is looking good.

we're also picking up the 2-car hauler tomorrow and john will be pulling us up there with his truck again.

they're the CE046 model that DC rims makes:
http://www.dcrims.com/DB/Online-Store/p ... prod=ce046

18x9 +25, so not too bad.

they don't have prices listed on their site, but let me know if you're interested and i can probably get a deal on them.
