We are really sorry guys, but Gateway just contacted Scott and told him that the insurance he had worked out is not sufficient enough for the event we want to hold.
He's been busting his ass working things out, and Gateway just now today decided that the insurance wasnt good enough.
Scott will be making phone calls to registered drivers telling them about it. If you are out of town, DO NOT COME TO STL. The event will not be going on. Im sorry guys.
If you are from KC or anywhere outside of STL, please let all the drivers out there know about it, as we do not have many numbers from those people.
We really apologize and we are sorry for getting everyones hopes up. We also greatly appreciate the hard efforts put in by John for his large monetary contribution, and Andy for his monetary contribution as well as his hard hard work on everyones cars.
All money will be refunded within the next week.
STL March 17th CANCELLED.

Ok, To quell any rumors, grapevine, what have you, It's always the best to hear straight form the source.
I have read what Aon Risk services has detemined in regards to the insuarnce policy that was sent to them from IDCR.
Part of the problem has to do with what the requirements as noted by Aon, that IDCR insurance is deficient in a few aspects. The main reasoning behind this is basically mis-communication. A certificate was sent out to GIR, which was then in turn forwarded on to their risk management. This was a couple of weeks ago. The risk management company had sent back an email stating what deficiencies there were on the insurance.
The main problem at that point in time was the fact that I had gotten the contract with GIR to read that the event was to be a Driver's Angle LLC event. I'll get to where Driver's angle comes in to play. When the policy was FOERST sent over, it did not include Driver's angle as insured on the policy. I had long phone conversations that regarded to this FOERST deficiency. In all those calls to the insurance company, I had found out that because it was an IDCR policy, Driver's angle LLC could not be written in the policy, as it would have been illegal to do so after the policy was started some months ago.
The next part of the problem was about Statutory worker's comp laws. This was a small problem as I just had to sign a form that stated I carry no employee's. No real harm done in this part, cause it took only a few hours to get straight.
Once all that was brought to compliance with the contract, the last deficiency was about the wording on the policy. This is what took the most time to try and resolve.
It mainly had to do with what exactly the insurance had written down to what they would cover, compared to what the contract stated it had to cover. I don't really need to get into this part about it very much as it is truly a diatribe.
I had been the middle man for relaying deficiency information to the head of IDCR, who in turn had to rlay them to IDCR's insurance agent. This takes some time even in the wired world we live in.
When I had gotten the information on how to contact the insurance agent, I was on the phone nearly daily for a week and a half straight to relay GIR's wanted information. I also took it upon myself to contact the risk mangaement company that was relaying information to GIR to relay to me. I did this of my own accord to see what the deficiencies were so that I could relay these directly to the insurance agent.
In the end which was today, the correct certificate wasn't sent out to the risk people, and in turn, the event got cancelled.
I truly apologize that it had to come to a cancellation. I've worked really hard on getting this together, and I wanted to drift tomorrow as well. From all of this I understand what promoters and organizers go through when trying to put together something of this scale. I was told from the beginning that GIR is a hard track to get onto, but I understand being that GIR is a Fortune 500 company, and they have to make sure that everything is worded correctly so as to avert any legal ramifications as a result of accidents at high risk events.
With that said, I will be refunding money as soon as I can get it back in to the paypal system, and recieve a refund from the insurance company.
From my understanding the money from insurance company will come in next week as soon as I send a form stating that the event didn't go off as planned. I have recieved the money back from GIR and have transferred that in to paypal. In 3-4 business days that will clear. When it does I'll be sending it back through paypal to all the guys that sent money that way. For you cash guys, I'll make it a point to meet up with you after the check clears from the insurance company.
You can contact me at anytime if you have any questions regarding refunds, or about the event.
