Subaru headlight advice please...

that is terrible news. thought we had it licked. i dont remember it saying HID headlight anywhere on the ebay page...bastards, and lucky you for getting the uber rare JDM HID.......why not just wire up the one HID? or get a HID kit for your FOERST JDM headlight and then use the ballast/wiring from the kit for the true JDM HID headlight?

I've read numerous threads about people opening up their headlights, jdm projectors included, and it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Trust me I'll be babysitting that shit for real, checking every couple minutes. And it sounds weird but it still feels like less of a PITA to bake them than buying more shit and trying to wire things up that I don't understand.

Ok, update.
Buying that headlight from ebay seems to be a mistake but it's not all that bad. Here's the deal. Since I had to bake them and open them up anyway, I just went with my original plan and swapped the lens (including the inner black plastic housing) out from the HID. It kept me from having to rewire anything and since the back part of the original projector wasn't even cracked it just made more sense.
It was a little wasteful because I had already bought a pair of used USDM OEM headlights to use for the project but at least now I have those as a backup or so I can sell the JDMs if I go back to stock. I also ended up with a perfectly good passenger side HID headlight minus lens but fuck if I know what to do with that. Maybe give it away on NASIOC or something. I'll probably just hold on to it in case a drivers' side HID comes along for a decent price.
So that's the end of the story. Everything is back to normal and I didn't have to frankenwire anything or do much more than I had expected. If you ignore the cost of a backup set of headlights then my fuckup only cost me 300 bones. Of course now that I have everything back together I realize that my other headlight is out and I have to take it all back apart again to swap the bulbs.
So is life.
