Fire out the back?!?

Post by bavdrftr318 »

Is there any way for a stock manual tranny car to shoot flames out the tail? A buddy of mine was telling me that you hold it at a certain rpm for an extended period of time then slam it. Is this bullshit or what? Have any of you guys owned a car that would spit fire? :?

usually you have to be running fairly rich and have no cats. i've seen a few 240's, barry's wrx, hooman's evo, and derek's FC all shoot some big ones.

i've seen a crx blow some major fire, he was like a low 11 sec car though and my friend i were playing around and trying to get him to run us in his stock 89 240, we stayed with him till we hit second and his big turbo started to spool, then he jumped like 8 car lengths on us, and shot so much fire out of his dunked exhaust i thought he was blasting off (mind you we were driving past NASA in houston in the process)

Yea most free flowing turbo cars will fart a little fire, my old 62 bug would shoot a big ass flame but hey the exhaust was only like a foot long.

I raced a white FC once... running 145 mph - THEN he shot flames. It scared the living hell out of me, and I almost wrecked my car (err... killed myself). I backed off at that point, and let him take the win. It was a fun race... but frightening as well.
