SCCA has just anunced they are canceling the pro rally, and club rally, due to finacial conflicts. So anyone who cars can be upset that there will be no more SCCA rallys. But RallyX is safe FOR NOW is what they said and the new formula drift might be heading its way to the cuting block as well.

THAT IS FXXXCKED!!!
What next... drop Solo2? How about Trans-Am... Speed World Challenge? Why not just declare bankruptcy and call it a day! They need to get their act together and realize that these motorsports will not grow here if you cut things off before they get started.
I just read this article: http://www.scca.com/News/News.asp?Ref=178
“This was a difficult and unfortunate decision to make,†SCCA Board of Directors Chairman Gary Pitts said. “However, from an insurance standpoint, the stage rally format has gotten to the point where it puts the entire Club, its activities and entities under an undue risk.â€
It sounds more like they're concerned with safety. Time to grow some balls. Safety is the reason WRC won't come to the states... and this number won't help it any. Rally was never about safety. If a fan wants to risk getting hit by standing in harms way... then so-be-it. Otherwise... stand back - that's your safety.
This is BS.

I agree they have no balls none at all, I was talking to a guy once and they brought one of the WRC guys over to veiw one of our prorallys and he said the guy shook his head and said thinks for wasting my time, the scca never realy steped up the pace for rally even though thousands of people love it and hell thousand and i mean thousands of people like me work these events to make them happen becaus we love rally and now we are just screwd? WTF hey guys you can go work road races hhahahah NO! The SCCA has lost one hard working volentere and i am shure i will not be the only one.
I wil still be in the rallyx program but i sent of for my renewal of my rally workers licens, my codriver competeion licens, and my regular membership, and i DID call the bank and have them canel the check. I love rallyX but i will not be a bord member anymore and i will not atend meetings or anything i am done, i will simply assest in helping my "FREINDS" NOT the SCCA in the rallyx program.
Also we had a Club Rally coming up in chattanooga now it is canceld ARRRRGGG i am so pissed we busted our ass used our spare time to make this hapen and for what?????? Ill tell yea for nothing. Now there all like Rally America will do them well ladty ladty daa maby like one a year anywere close to us and i doubt that so sorry rally fans were all screwd the SCCA just jabed a screwdriver in Americas rally fans eye.
Ok i am done for now.

That is a Good Call!! Maybe another club can do the Drift thing while they concentrate on Rally and get that Cat under control.. Maybe they can talk with SCCA and just take over where they left off.. Then everything could go as scheduled.. Just under another name. Stuff like that happens all of the time in other parts of life.. Why not events and Car Clubs??

Good point, but I'm hoping for something a bit different. The SCCA screwing up everything they touch may be the best thing to ever happen to American racers. The worse it gets, the better this market looks to the FIA. Having the same series and rules here as they do in Europe makes the transition to the world stage far easier. Plus we have a better chance at seeing WRC in the US.
