i don't understand how i jeopardized formula d if it happened before i went on the track. i went on the track the day after it was already over.. well i know it's illegal and wrong but i guess it was tempting. just wondering, but how did you all learn? i'm sure some of you guys learned illegally and not in a sanctioned area. i know it's not always right but to some it's all that's available. i'm not trying to argue with you guys, i mean you guys are way more experienced than me, but everyone has to start somewhere. i'll take your advice tho. i'll keep paying attention to events and i'll enter once i can.

I've definitely done my fair share of street drifting. I would be hypocritical to tell you not to go street drifting, because I'm guilty as hell of that. It's cheap, and accessible, and I totally understand that.

I'm just saying that if you were to wreck (or even get caught) on that Long Beach course, it could throw a red flag to the city of Long Beach that it's bad to have drift events there as a result. Sort of a "Look what your events bring to our city" attitude. Who knows... Champ Car may even pull back on the FD demos they do at races. Even if FD was over for the weekend... it's still technically a closed race track.

I started out in HUGE parking lots in the middle of nowhere... where I wasn't endangering anyone but myself. But sanctioned events are where it's at. There will be SO many people on hand willing to help you learn. You'll learn more in one day at an event then you can in several nights on the street.

i started autox at 15 and went from there. Like Andys saying, all of us have had our fair share of street drifting and some have had accident , some havent. Im just glad you didnt get caught because i really do believe that it could of fucked things up with Fd and i think that long beach is one of the best courses and would of hated to see it go. If you must drift and not be at an event, find a parking lot , not a street, then move to the streets .......... NOT
