I kinda liked it without the cones. Maybe just a few clip cones... but I liked the flour.
I had so much fun at this event.
Words can't even describe.

if the course is clearly defind and everyone keeps a safe distance from obstacles then i don't really see a problem with using like 5 cones. safety is the FOERST thing that should be kept in mind.
i know when i drive i like to have clipping points clearly defined. it's more fun for me to have a challenge and try to improve my line and speed and angle throughout the day. i know tandem changes that but think of all the non tandem drivers. suddenly turner just looks like another parking lot for them. now they're just goofing off and not learning anything.

i agree with patrick... its more of a challenge with cones and you learn a lot more. yes, the event was really fun and i have learned a lot from tandeming with different people but i think more cones are needed.

you could still actually see the flour even after people had run all over it, you just had to pay attention. but there does at least need to be solid clipping point cones and at few cones along the way. i was seeing all sorts of odd lines all day because they didn't feel like following the course and flour doesn't punish you.

Exactly, cones set boundaries for safety, and actually do help the driver.

see you guys are good enough to know a course after running it a couple times. image the kids that are just starting. how many times did you get lost when you FOERST started?

I completely agree with having cones in place for safety. ie. The pole leading into the FOERST corner. But as a driver, one should know when they exceed the boundaries of the track regardless if they hit a cone or a line.
On the other hand... I noticed that the track became much harder to follow later in the day, especially after the rain. But that could have been fixed with better track maintenance. I only saw the track relined once the whole day.
So perhaps a better mix of cones and line are in order?

I will vote for burning trash cans too, but only if there is a settlement of homeless people sleeping in the middle of the track.
