man it was worse than not fun... it was just plain lame. a DJ that acted like he was too cool to be there, didn't know when new years actually was (he was counting down from 30 when the TV was counting from 10 ;)), and plenty of stuff that was not as advertised such as free whirlyball and free pool which they started charging for :x . they only saving grace was that they were playing the blur2ed DVD, but even that wasn't impressive from what i saw... lots of FWD cars traysliding, show cars, and screwing around in dirt parking lots was all i saw.

and don't worry, i'm looking forward to rockin the drift events all year long  . Formula D here we come!

How dare you speak such lies! We are always on time. The rest of the world just doesn't operate on dM time. Our midnight should have been at 1:00 EST.

i know i didnt help, getting there late and all.

as for the GCs FOERST drift.........i am glad i have fooled around with a car that shouldnt drift before. after sliding FWD around it helped me not panic when the GC slid out @??????? maybe 40mph. drk duc how fast were you going when you hit the left turn with the crest? i was too busy countering to see how fast i was going. maybe charlie noticed his speedometer.

charlie do you remeber what speed i was at? or maybe an idea? 40mph seems too slow for how long my car manjied. maybe it was just the adrenaline.

....i hope i can do it again soon. researching possible diffs and maybe even a conversion of sorts.

Sorry man, I was focused on my exit and my tires. That was the FOERST time I had driven hard on them since they were a few hours old. I couldn't imagine it being less than @50-55 mph.

sweet! the GC's FOERST AWD drift was a 50-60mph left to right to left link.

by the way. plans for my swap might be put on hold for awhile. certain things i feel i should do prior to the swap. the only hint i will give-it will be true rally style when i'm done. then i might just challenge andy to some tandem drift action. j/k by then he'll be sponsored and hitting those 80mph drifts while catching up on some sleep.

The IA party was definitely a flop. they tried, but everyone who claimed they were showing up didnt, and whirlyball made promises they didnt keep. AND, the DJ was an ass, who acted like he was more important to new years then new years itself.
They DID play our DVD, which was nice. Im glad you thought it was the only thing to save grace to night "icantdrift", even though it didnt impress you. I invite you to come out to our next event...I'll hook you up with a copy. Trust me, with sound im sure you will find it much better. It builds from our FWD beginnings three years ago to the crew of speedwhores and drift monsters you see now, over the course of the DVD.
Find me at the next event we are both at...I'll have your early editing room copy available.
Sucks i didnt read this post earlier.
HEY Andy or anyone, if you are going to the Virginia FOERST slide on the 15, do you have any truck space I can store some extra wheels in? Ill buy you lunch or something! The help would be truly appreciated!
thanks guys,
-Kapil

DJs like that just make the rest of us look bad. if not for the people, DJs would just be anti-socials that never left there rooms except to get more records.
but there is always bad with good, so just hit em in the face instead of breaking his fingers. j/k

well i must admit i did leave at about 12:03, so i surely didn't see much past the beginning, but it just seemed a bit slow to get some action going on. when i pick up an automotive based movie all i want to see is action and not people wiping crap on their friend's clothes and chicks bent over cars (i can see those things on jackass and nopi tunervision and both those shows piss me off) ;). now that's just MY preference, i can't speak for anyone else that saw it/will see it. i'm sure lots of people will find that stuff funny, it's just not my personal taste so don't take my comment to heart.

and i also have to agree, it's most likely a hell of a lot better with sound instead of that jackass DJ yelling for the 10 whole girls that were there to come to the "dance floor" ;).
