I would reccomend a turbo for the 20V or maybe a Vortech V-5 SQ Q-trim blower. I have considered the vortech for my MR2. The cost is considerable, but the horsepower possibilities are quite high and the fabrication involved is minimal compared to the turbo route. SC12s are nearly tapped out on the 16v that uses a small port head so it would be pretty useless on a 20V. If you want power cheap, I would reccomend a t25. This should easily be capable of providing the 8psi you would want for a stock 20V. Should be able to produce somewhere around 200-225 RWHP. Plenty for drifting the AE86.
Beans and cornbread.
or, you could just get a BEAMS 3s-ge and call it a day.
but for N/A hp on a 20v, head work. Lots of it. Knife edge the crank, some lighter, higher compression (11.5:1) pistons, and cams. A stand alone, and an open header. but by then, she's a trailer queen, and an embarrasment to true drifters for being so.
Didn't the AE111s come supercharged? I don't remember.
Screw it. get the black top with a 6 speed, and find out how to make that work.
