does altezza's come with 2jz's over there? engine bay looks different from over here. changing out my spark plugs was a big pain in the ass cause we have to remove the tb. mine is still stock as all can be though.

hi,
the IS300 (JZXE10) comes with the 2JZ-GE, then there is the Altezza (RS200 / SXE10) with the beams 3S-GE (wasn't sold here officially) and finally there is the IS200 (AS200 / GXE10) with a 2litre inline 6 1G-FE that was sold in Europe and Australia only (afaik).
mine is a GXE10. unfortunately the IS300 was sold with automatic transmission only over here, so I took the weaker model therefore with a 6speed MT.
I heard that the AT to MT conversion at the is300 is pretty difficult and the 5speed manual gearboxes are hard to find here, so it was no option for me.
instead I put the supercharger on the 1G (easier to get street legal than a turbo conversion here). the output we should know on Friday

long time no post - for the future I'll keep you updated about my car in here (maybe also about the Octavia

)
the manifold-thing is done already but I have to check the exhaust system if everything fits correctly as I hear a weird rattling at ~2500+rpm when I'm accelerating. I hope nothing loosened afterwards
next will (hopefully) be a KAAZ 2-way LSD. until I have the money for it I think I will change the old hoses of the charger-kit for some new ones.
the old ones are pretty stiff already.
the kit is running with 0,3 bar at the moment (not super but ok for the oem-pulley...).
I have to buy a A/F sensor soon, to check if the mixture is ok. (should be, but you never know *g* )
I ordered some denso IK22 spark plugs as well.
I also want to buy some braces but I want to save money for the LSD FOERST.
today I removed the last parts from the rear (speakers, damping mats, safety belts,...)
I put back in the rear package tray because I have no solution for the 3rd brake light at the moment.
that's what it looks at the moment (sorry for the bad quality of the pics):

as there is no money for new rims, i decided to paint the old ones
before - bleh
grinded, cleaned and base coated
I painted two rims only - if it would have gone wrong only 2 would have been messed up
woohoo - pic with flash
both
nice - paint is only where it's supposed to be
seems like the paint changes a bit with the light - it was gloomy already but with the flash of the camera you can see it a bit

picked up a few parts for the kaaz today (bearings, seals,...)
I still can't believe that just a few parts can cost that much money
on the table: EUR 410 / ~USD 500
prices for oem parts are insane
