Yes, definitely!

Man, things have been crazy with HIN.
I know Cody and Barry are going... I'm not sure who all else is. I didn't get a chance to call Mike back and see... but I'll figure everything out tomorrow for sure!

Okay... the room is all set!
We have one non-smoking double (tell'm hockey puck) reserved for Friday night.
Syn and Sande are staying at the same place, and have a double as well.

SLEEP INN AND SUITES
(3 minutes from track at I-85 exit).
Phone: (704) 979-8800

I won't be able to get the WARwagon this weekend, because we'll really need it for next weekend. It's a one or the other kinda deal. SO, with that in mind, we're going to need a support vehicle. My car will be crammed with rims & tyres... so any volunteers would get a free stay at the hotel, as well as entry into the event... so let me know!

Charlotte is only three and a half hours away if you stay 80-85 mph.
We'll trek back Saturday evening after the event is finished.

AssDriftNation here we come!

Shit, I totally spaced that it was this Saturday.

If you guys need to, you can drop off some stuff in Clemson, and then I can bring it up on Saturday. I promise to get there on time too.

I can't wait to stink of burnt rubber saturday night.

Oh yeah, how do I add a pic to my signature? I probably needed a hosted pic don't I?

Now that I've had a second to breathe... (werk's been killing me this week) I figured I'd post about the Charlotte event.

The track configuration was awesome. There was a huge sweeping right-hander, that cornered into a horseshoe turn. The horseshoe was about 50 feet from a wall, and an s14 hit it the FOERST lap out (he was the 2nd car).
That set the tone for the day.

The track was coated with what felt like SealCote. Once the track heated up (about 9am on) the surface became glass. I swear I've had better luck sliding through ice 'n' snow in NY than trying to hold angle on this pavement. I would slide into a full 360, and my tyres wouldn't even squeal (at least from inside the car/helmet they weren't)

I ran shxxxt tyres all through practice, and swapped out to the Michelin Pilot Sports for competition... figuring that the better tyres on this slick surface would provide better grip. The compounds were completely different between the two pair... I should have kept the shxxxt tyres on (hindsight is 20/20).

I hit that huge sweeping right hander, only to flip a rock'n'roll 360 right in front of the grandstands. The crowd went wild. It was rad. At that point, I decided to screw trying to run well, and just have fun. So I was throwing the car every which way... doing 360's all over the place, and laughing & screaming outloud inside my helmet. It was awesome!

Mike Frohawk (DropTopDrifter) made top 8, 4, down to final two. The car he was up against was the ONLY car to pull that huge sweeping right hander the whole way through. This was going to be good. On entry into that same turn... the s13 locked up, and went right into the wall! Mike came away with the win, as well as a set of BBS (885) wheels, Cooper Zeon tyres, and $500. Congrats, Mike!!!

The general consensus was that everyone's car would understeer to the breaking point, and then there was no time to react to the oversteer, and you'd spin. There were a few people who weren't having much trouble, and were definitely ripping it up. Dado from DTMPower.net (Mischeif3000) was definitely ripping it up in his turbo e36 M3.

Anyway... despite track adaptabilty... and STILLLLL not having my effing LSD in the car... I had a blast. Doing 360's all over the place and getting away with it was priceless for sure. And according to the crowd drifters (who are ALL pros...) my show queen (car) is too expensive, and belongs back on the trailer, LOL!

BIG BIG thanks goes out to Mike, Cody, Barry, Chad, Syn, Sande, Myko, We (sp?), and DropTop for helping out with everything, and making the event rawk!
