I stand for drivers rights everywhere, and that means that about 75% of the drivers out there would no longer be allowed to drive, and all motorsports will receive government subsidies to further the proliferation of things that make our lives better. Who's with me???!!!

I don't know about that...but if he lowered the cost of college that'd be pretty sweet. They're making pretty big profits off of students, from what I understand. But I know one of his main platforms was tax reform like a MOTHERFUCKER. Like abolishing the IRS (for the most part. there would still exist an organization to regulate taxes on businesses) and the ILLEGAL Federal Income Tax...He had my vote...hell...he STILL has my vote...I'm writing him in.

collink wrote:Did anyone notice a price DECREASE when they started making gas about 10% ethanol? I don't remember one.... You mean to tell me that 13 oz of ethanol costs more than 13 oz of gasoline? Bullshit...

You know, we used to have anti-price-gouging laws..but from what I've heard, our current administration has all but done away with them...
I don't have to read the rest of this thread cause it's just going to be pointless arguing, so for the record Ethanol costs a lot more to produce, than gas, in the current production state because of the lack of facilities and supply. The proportional cost to produce ethanol is higher at this current time because of that, when the multiple plants they are constructing currently are finished the price of ethanol will probably be about the same or MAYBE a little less than gasoline. They're actually losing money on all the ethanol they sell in retail right now in order to push the viability of it becoming a prominent fuel source in the near future.

Additionally.. our corn based ethanol is harder to refine and yields less energy than say... celluose-based ethanol.

Good example of ethanol adoption is Brazil.. which produces most of theirs from cane-sugars. Easier to produce and cheaper overall than corn-based.

American corn farmers need to get off the tit known as govt. subsidies..

Yep, my dad and I were kind of talking about it today and they should use kudzu to make cellulose based ethanol because that shit grows like 12-16 inches a day! there's got to be a way to make fuel out of it, and it will grow anywhere.
