outback is just a trim-these features but not those, blah blah. there is an Impreza Outback, a WRX Outback, and the Legacy Outback. mostly it is american marketing. dont change the car none. it is a legacy. you are only a lezy if you think its a Subaru Outback.

Right, but it also means that you are assured the 2.5l, roof rack, height adjustable driver's seat, sweet 2-tone paintjob, random aussie bloke in the rear seat and twin piston front brakes.GC8VI wrote:mranlet wrote:Accually, it IS an Outback![]()

Mine's a Subaru Legacy Outback Limited.. sold as the Subaru Outback
The Impreza version is called the Subaru Outback Sport
In Japan.. the Legacy Outback is sold as the Lancaster.
In Ranlet's and Erik's Outback.. they are both 1g outbacks.. but their cars are VERY different.
Erik's 1995 Outback is literally a Legacy 2.2l with the Outback Trim package (sweet two-tone paint, different interior trim, alloy wheels, and outback badging)
Ranlet's Outback i believe is a 1997... which means it's got the stuff of erik's Outback add being lifted, 2.5l lump, extended height roof, different front and rear bumpers, grille, hood, etc.
Paul Hogan didn't call these cars Subaru Legacy's in the commercials.. neither did Martina Navratilova. They called them Outbacks.
