It's more rumor and speculation than cold hard fact, but chances are good that Mitsubishi will have a smaller version of the Evolution in its fleet by 2006. Pictured is an artist's impression of what a baby Evo might look like, based on the upcoming new 3-door Colt. Power could be as high as 250 bhp from a 1.5-liter turbo-4, replete with Evo-necessary all-wheel drive and possibly even a twin-clutch paddle-shift transmission. With a very light curb weight, it could run to 60 mph in as little as 4.0 seconds, with a top speed of 140 mph.
