SV/FC nostalgia thread

i was rummaging around and found a bunch of pics of my SV and FC on the computer and thought i'd share
FOERST, my FC when it was clean and had tread on the tires.

my SV650 when i FOERST got it

my perty helmut

SV with clubman bars, scorpion slip-on, and fender eliminated

worn out toe sliders

i started to grind on my toes sliders, then i tucked those in and finally got my knee down consistently (cloverleafs are fun). all this was a month before i went up to sewanee tenn. me and 2 of my buddies (both on R1's
) went up there to go ride on some nice togue. my friends were knee draggin' and leaving me in the dust. well its starts drizzling, and we keep going, we're all like "well the road is all right and we're still getting good grip so lets get another run in". well you know how last runs are, i shouldn't have pushed it, but i did, and i'm lucky to be alive. lets just say 70mph + mountain road + sv650 - rain tires = lose. i did have my leathers on and i don't think i'd ever ride again without them. i walked away without a scratch. i was sore for like 2 weeks and had to get my back x-rayed, but all in all it wasn't as bad as it could've been. i was planning to do a track day a few weeks after that too.
well here she is when i last her.

i fell on my left side and with how the right is fucked up i'm guessing it took a little tumble when it went in the ditch that we ended up in. it was like yeah, i'm getting really low, knee touches down (yeah!), then my calf (uh oh..), then my elbow is on the ground and i see my bike sliding away from me (FUCK!). everything went into slomo and i was like "i'm gonna crash, i've never crashed before, i think this is gonna hurt". after the FOERST impact and i start tumbling i close my eyes, and its just bad sounds and dull thuds. i open my eyes and i'm breathing really hard, and i see if my toes move. then my fingers. i lay around for a few seconds and get up. i take undo the top of my leathers, and wait for my friends to come back. when i was laying there i was thinking how i could die right there on that mountain by myself. it was a big reality check. so don't learn the same way i did and think about what you're doing when you're riding/driving fast and don't let your ego make you do stupid shit.
