The ae86 is back on track. There hasn't been an urge to get this car running under boost since I ran out of car funds, but with the recent sale of the Silvia and acquiring a nice, reliable daily driver the remaining parts have been ordered and the urge to be back in the car has heightened.
While I have been selling cars, swapping motors, and taking care of school, the following has been done:
- I stripped the entire car of the interior. The only thing remaining is the dash, no heater core, no a/c, nothing.
- Mounted most gauges
- Started to wire the MSnS
- Mounted intercooler
- Mounted Koyo Radiator
- Removed front bumper and prepped for new one piece fiberglass bumper
- Removed everything A/C from motor
- Mocked up coldside I/C piping
- Mounted GT28R
4AGE 7 Rib Block
Forged Arias Pistons, 8.6 Compression
4AGZE Forged Rods
ARP Head and Main Studs
Port and Polish Head w/ 3 angle valve job
Toda Valve Train Kit*
Toda Cams 264/272 9mm lift*
Toda Camgears*
Toda Headgasket*
HKS Exhaust Manifold
Garret GT28R
Cusco Motor mounts*
Illegal Garage 6 Puck Clutch
Fidanza 9.5lb Flywheel
Supra 440cc Injectors
Walboro 255 pump
Ford EDIS
(*ordered recently, awaiting delivery)
After all the parts get in, I am going to see if Top Hat will assemble it for me.
In order for it to crank I need to
- Install the EDIS
- Install the Fuel Pump
- Tap the oil pan and route both the water and oil lines for the turbo
- Wire the MSnS through the relay board
- Finish the I/C piping for the hotside
- Wire the gauges
After its running there is some MAJOR bodywork that needs to be done. The rear upper strut mounts are completely rusted through and need to be cut out and replaced, and the rear quarter panels could use a lot of attention as well. The last thing will be a cage to meet all regulations for any events this thing will see.
Questions, comments, and concerns are welcome....
