I talking to a guy who's selling both these bumpers for my ae86.
I am going to buy one of them... and I'm 97% sure which one I'm going for... but I figured I'd see what you guys thought.
Zenki Front Bumper: (which will be painted black at a later date)
Kouki Front Bumper:
The Zenki is the bumper Takumi had in Initial D, while the Kouki is the bumper Tsuchiya has on his slammin' 86. Whatcha guys think?
kouki! kouki! kouki! I think the kouki one looks way, way better.
haha rob has a sticker on his car that I am going to get for sam's hachi. It says "I don't care what Takumi does". Although I think he really needs one that says "if you paint your car panda, you are selling out" lol.
MMMMM... I like the Kouki too.
Now comes the kicker:
Kouki=$550, Zenki=$250
The Kouki comes with the lights, and the brackets...
while the Zenki is just the bumper.
I can get the Kouki for $450 without the brackets... but I have to have them to mount the bumper to the car.
It's funny how these things come along right as I'm ready to drop a elevenHundered on an LSD for my e46.
If I do the Zenki, I can still get the LSD.
If I get the Kouki, then the LSD is on hold.
Ahhh, the perils of modding two cars at once.
Grrrrr, I dunno what I'm gonna do just yet.
I think I'll step away from the desicion until after this weekend and see what I want to do. I still need a new motor for the car, and I'm already looking at bumpers lol.
nobody: I definatly want the "I don't care what takumi does" sticker.
Andy: Get a motor and LSD for that damn corolla FOERST!!! That, and I'd defiatly go for the second bumper. .. though I thought that tak had the stock Trueno Apex GT1600 bumper?
But also one thing that's nasty is the 86's are really bad about catching the front lip and bending the supports. you might be better off not buying the supports that they sell, and making your own from heavy gague materials from homo depo. or CF.
*sings* my corolla breaks down more than your corolla!
djdorifto wrote:that's a bad mr.kitty! get ur engine and ITB's FOERST, then ur bumper =D hehehe
Hahaaa, BUSTED!!! I know I'm being bad.
I've never seen a brand new Zenki bumper for $250. Toysport quoted me $800+shipping 6 months ago. I met a guy online from New Zealand, who would sell me his (used) Zenki front and rear bumpers for $100, but shipping was something like $800.
Either way... I'll hold off on the bumpers. Seeing the Zenki available for soo low made me jump, but realistically... I want the Kouki over the Zenki.
