July 24th - Maryland Drift Showoff!

Post by jo »

Well, Maryland isn't too far from Atlanta [or at least closer than pike's peak!], would anyone be interested in making the trip up? It has to be better than the event down in Miami-- I'm sure all those problem's were track specific. Maybe everyone could get their car running by then and we could rock the clinic out. Lol you could always call chris and trade the rights to the photos for discounted admission:P There's more info about it in the announcements section.

Just an idea:)

hmmm....sounds kinda interesting. don't know if i'll completely trust my car by then or not, but i would love to hit up the clinic if if's gonna be more than a parking lot. oh, and mapquest says it's only 10 hrs so it might actually be less of a drive than miami.

Corolla Differential: 700$
Corolla Drift Spec Suspension: 400$
Corolla Insurance + license plate: ~500 + 40$

Argh. I am going to get the FOERST two done by the 24th, hopefully. I don't know about tag and title, though.

They say when you own a BMW, that the size of the Roundel is the size of your arse, cause they always stick it to ya.

Aye, does it hurt.

Axle seals? Carrier Cases? Having to have the diff built? Dude... save yourself some cash and throw a 20v, drift TRD suspension, and a kaaz in your 'rolla for that much.

AE111 Front clip from Jarco: $2,450
KAAZ LSD for ae86: $700

Ack... the clip alone will cost more than the LSD will for my e46, and that doesn't even include the cost of the swap.

I weighed my options, and doing the LSD on the BMW made more sense. I've already got all the basic bolt-ons, and suspension mods done... whereas the 86 needs everything. If it had a 4a series motor in it, I could prolly get by without a front clip, but it looks like I'm gonna need it.

Either way, I weighed out time vs. money vs. accelarating my learning curve drifting, and the LSD in the e46 made the most sense. The projektE46 is coming close to completion... so the hachi is next!!!

I can drift the e46 with an open diff very well, and I figure it's time to turn things up a notch. I want to go to Maryland and rep the driftMechaniks hard hard stylee. Show'm what atlantaDrifters are all about!!!

Damn. I gotta get my 86 running so I can know what this drift thing is all about... more than just doughnuts in parking lots, that is.
