Actually, right after top 16 was announced, we were informed that there were some scoring erros, and that there were some changes. martymartymarty.net and stuart both ended up getting knocked out of top 16, and ron (vision) and chelsea (driftbrigade miata) are actually in those spots. Really sucked to find that out after they made the announcement, but not much we can do

.
By the way, it sucks out here. The town itself is great and there is some cool stuff to do, but the course was extremly slick in some spots and overly grippy in others, being at 5000ish feet totally screwed with the way every car was running (hella late spooling and waaaaay down on power), it was freaking hot (96), and the course was a really weird shape that just didn't flow in my opinion. A ton of cars wrecked (some dude in the yellow VQ swapped S13 nailed the wall and had to go to the hospital), colin frost hit really hard, kitt from vision hit straight on at like 65mph, harry from tertech destroyed the back drivers side suspension but found a junkyard and fixed it, damien hit and messed up suspension parts but hammered them out (but then had other engine problems that kept him from qualifying), lance f. hit during qualifying and lost both bumpers and killed a wheel, some kid from full race with a beautiful S14.5 hit hard, and that's about all I can remember. I kept my car alive but due to the total lack of power (and suspension) autocrossed way too much of the course and ended up sucking pretty bad myself.
So yea, we've had more succesful events. Hopefully LA will go better.

Sounds like a crazy weekend. I hate to hear no dM's made top-16... but like to hear no dM's wrecked.
I heard Bill Sherman won?

Bill did win, with forrest in 2nd, hubert in 3rd, and nate brasz in 4th.
Today was crazy though....got there and everyone was still a bit upset about yesterdays weird calls, but then things started changing a bit. Lance broke a tranny which should have opened up a spot for one of the alternates (stewart was 1st alternate), however nopi said that no alternates were allowed and that whoever was against lance would just get a free advance. Nobody liked that, and the rulebook was pulled up and it was decided that stew would be allowed in. This would've been great for him, however during a practice run (17-20 were allowed to tandem practice), he nailed the wall and tore up his bumper, fender, hood, intercooler, and piping. Once the go ahead was made to let him in as an alternate, he started scrambling to find parts, and with the help of jason jiovanni's spare front mount, my hotpipe, and a hammer, he got the car ready.
Meanwhile, also during morning practice, ron from vision's motor grenaded badly, and that then opened up another alternate spot, which would have been martymartymarty.net. We were all mad excited until we found that lance did manage to fix his tranny and that put him back in top 16 and dropped martymartymarty.net. Stew however was still in, but during a run with hubert (who false started and sent stew frantically trying to catch up as he wasn't red flagged or anything), hit again, destroying way more this time (suspension, the new IC/pipe, and more body damage). Really sucked to see, but he's hopefully getting to a frame shop tomorrow (along with kitt from vision) and hopefully they'll both be up and running by LA next weekend. Ron is also going to use milano's shop and buy a spare RB25, and he should also be good for the next one.
Other than all of that mess, the rest of top 16 went ok, with the exception of a few calls that weren't totally clear (apparently even forrest thought chelsea should have beaten him, but the call went to forrest). Bill tore it up as always too and brought home FOERST, all kinda expected.
sorry for the long update but hopefully that catches up everyone. Now off to party it up before our trip to the pipe shop tomorrow to get a new hotpipe and then head to vegas for the night
