Track weekend @ Road Atlanta: Oct 1-3!!!

Post by andysapp »

This is a Peachtree BMW CCA event, but it's open to all cars. Hooman and I participated in the last event, and it was AMAZING!!! From a distance, it seems expensive, but you get two days of track time, @ Road Atlanta, with an instructor! I learned sooo much about my limits, and my car's limits at the same time. The event was worth more than the cost of entry, ten-fold. You also have classroom time in between sessions to discuss speed theory, physics, etc.

Rumor has it... we can hit the horseshoe turn in the 10a-10b complex!!!
OMG, YESSSS!!!!

Peachtree Chapter BMW CCA would like you to join us for the third drivers school of 2004 at Road Atlanta. This school will take place on October 2 - 3, 2004 on the full course, and the "Track Orientation Day" for instructors and qualified A students is October 1st.

The entry fee is $350 for BMW CCA members and $390 for non-members. This includes track time, classroom instruction and a shirt.

Registration for the school will begin on August 7th for BMW CCA Peachtree members. If paying by check, please mail your completed application & check to the address on the application. Applications will not be accepted prior to August 7th, 2004. If you are a member of any other chapter of BMW CCA, the entry fee is also $350 but registration opens on August 14th, 2004. For all others the entry fee is $390 and registration also opens August 14th, 2004.

No cabriolets (convertibles) are permitted in the school.
Spots are limited to about 15 at this point, and will fill fast.
Last time I was on the waiting list, but still got in.

THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!!!

Nope, you can register now... the applications are the same for CCA Members/Non-members. There's a checkbox asking if you are a member, and if so what your number is. If you leave both of them blank, everything registers as a non-member.

Everything's allll good.

I'm sure there's a way for PayPal to validate receipt of the transaction. I the money didn't go through, then PayPal still has it... it's not gone... don't worry. We'll figure it out.

Well I talked to bmwcca, and they said yes they refused my payment. Non cca members aren't supposed to register before Saturday so they won't accept it and I should have followed instructions. Like I said-- registration isn't until Saturday.

Hopefully it won't fill up by then, and my payment will get figured out.

It still put you on the list of FOERST available registrants. I got an e-mail from Sandra this morning. I don't know why they refused your payment. They accepted mine, but are holding it until Saturday.

I guess it could be since I've participated in one of these events before. I know they feel it's less of a liability if you're familiar with the track... but the only way to learn is to get out there!
