I'm no expert at legalese...but maybe someone else show me where it says that I CAN'T have yellow headlights or that I HAVE to have white ones...cause I don't see it. I got written a warning for it 20 minutes ago, and the cop referred me to the following section of the vehicle code:

nor can I... i did a simple cntrl+f and typed in head and then i did white...it only mentioned white reverse lights and no where did it mention the required color of head lamps. i would search for other codes though.

I got pulled over for having yellow headlights a couple of years ago. According to the officer (in SC) you can't have yellow film, but you can have yellow bulbs.

AL 32-5-242 is specifically what he quoted on the warning. I searched for yellow, amber, white, head lamp, and color. None of these were mentioned with the words "head lamp". The words "color" and "head lamp" were never even mentioned in the same sentence, I don't think. I'm going to print it out and highlight those words in different colors, so then if I get pulled over again, I'll be able to quote shit...POLITELY of course...

The shitty thing is I got brighter bulbs, AND I can see better with yellow than white.

i would make sure your corner lamps have amber bulbs in them and that all of your other lights work and are within specification of that law. you start quoting law at officers you better be in full compliance of everything.

Cop just wanted to fuck with you.

Go to court and speak with a DA before the hearing and get it tosseed out... 5 minutes tops without waiting your turn.

There is usually a desk open 30 minutes before the scheduled time where the DAs hang out and wheel and deal.

Don't waste your time with the minions, go early and get the ticket tossed out.

Regardless, federal law overrides state law at all times.

Reference FMVSS 108 Page 247 section 3 that states:
